What Dr. Bowe Means to me!

​I don’t even know where to begin, because mere words will never fully express what Dr. Saida Bowe means to me.

I met Dr. Bowe during one of the most painful moments of my life—after suffering a miscarriage in January 2024. I was heartbroken, confused, and vulnerable. The doctor I was seeing since the age of 17 dismissed my situation and told me I needed an appointment. I knew in my spirit that I could not continue with that level of care.
That decision led me to Dr. Bowe, and it changed my life, forever.

She wasn’t scheduled to work that day, yet when the receptionist called her, she came in without hesitation. She examined me & confirmed my miscarriage. She showed me compassion and professionalism during a moment when I was emotionally fragile. She didn’t rush me. She didn’t dismiss my pain. She saw me. During that visit, she also confirmed my PCOS diagnosis and gave me hope when I felt like my dream of becoming a mother might never happen. When I became pregnant on my very first attempt, she celebrated with me as if it were her own blessing.

Throughout my pregnancy, Dr. Bowe made me feel incredibly important, like I was her only patient. So much so, my Godmother would joke that I was the only pregnant woman in The Bahamas. She accommodated me even on her days off, answered my calls and text messages at any hour, and reassured me through every worry.

When I felt anxious, overwhelmed, or afraid, she grounded me. She encouraged me to pray, stay positive, and trust God. She listened to my fears, respected my wishes, and guided me with wisdom, patience, and kindness.

Labor was painful, oh God, was it painful, but my delivery was smooth and free of complications. When my baby arrived, my heart felt as if it was going to explode. In that moment, I knew I could never thank Dr. Bowe enough for the role she played in my journey.

I named my daughter after her because her presence in my life was not by chance. I truly believe God used her as a vessel to help me achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a mom.

Dr. Bowe is more than an OB-GYN. She is compassionate, selfless, and deeply committed to her patients. She will always hold a special place in my life and in my family’s story.

Dear Dr. Bowe,
When I think back on my very first visit with you—as a scared, fresh 20-year-old who had just found out I was pregnant for the first time—to now, with my baby in my arms, I will always remember how welcoming the atmosphere was from that very first visit to the present day.

Appointments became my new routine, and it was a routine I genuinely enjoyed because of how you made me feel. Nearing the end of my pregnancy, I started to doubt myself. As prepared as I was for delivery, I was still so scared, and you would always reassure me that it was normal to feel that way—especially for my first time.
And labor—woah, labor… lol—I don’t think you will ever understand how your presence made me feel safe throughout the entire process.

I want to thank you for always being professional while still being personal, for listening to me tell you a million times during my last trimester how terrified I was of giving birth, and for always being a listening ear.

My experience with Dr. Saida Bowe at Sunrise Medical Centre was excellent. I underwent a fibroid hysterectomy in September 2024, and from the very beginning, Dr. Bowe made me feel comfortable, informed, and completely at ease. The procedure went smoothly, and I felt confident in her care every step of the way.

What stood out most was the level of attention I received before, during, and after the procedure. The healing process was clearly explained, and the follow-up care was reassuring. I’m truly grateful for the professionalism, skill, and compassion shown, and I would highly recommend Dr. Bowe and her team!
